The Guardian — public art dog/man in Brisbane CBD

Public art usually does not appeal to me. It is usually gaudy and abstract. The Guardian, though, caught my attention.

I was waiting to walk across the traffic lights on the corner of Ann and Wharf Streets in the Brisbane CBD. A towering, silver, dog-faced figure was waiting next to the crossing. It turns out the dog/man was commissioned by Lexicon.

Tree fallen across Kadumba Street in Yeronga

This tree on the footpath in Kadumba Street in Yeronga came down during the storms. I suspect that is why we had no electricity for around 36 hours. Once the Brisbane City Council clean up crews appeared in the suburb, Energex restored the power relatively quickly.
