Port Macquarie

I am spending the night at Port Macquarie so that I am within an easy drive to Sydney to meet my family in the morning.

Port Macquarie was extremely windy when I was there. All of the beaches were blown out.

Goal Point lookout looks out over a beach as well as the port entrance.

I took a few photos of the boat ramp and estuary.

A pleasant park is between the estuary and the business area.

The following sign is my evidence that this is actually Port Macquarie.

Sealy Lookout at Coffs Harbour

I’ve been driving down the Pacific Highway all day but not seen the Pacific Ocean. When I saw the Sealy Lookout sign as I drove through Coffs Harbour I decided to investigate. I pulled off the Pacific Highway and 6 kilometres later I was at Sealy Lookout. Sealy Lookout is in the Bruxner Park Flora Reserve and features the Forest Sky Pier.

Clarence Coast Visitor Information Centre and Cafe

Clarence Coast rest area is a nice spot to have a quick roadside break. It has a cafe and visitor information centre, but no play things for the kids. There are lots of water dragons, ducks and fish to be seen just off the cafe deck with pleasent views of the river.

The cafe at the Clarence Coast Visitor Information Centre served acceptablly good coffee for a regional roadside coffee stop.

Wardell Rest area

The Wardell rest area is just south of Ballina. Until then, roads are good but bland dual carrigageway highway. Rural single lane carriageways offer a lot more interest passing through regional towns.

The Wardell rest area is typical roadside rest area. The joys of roadside rest area drop dunnies.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 tyres

My Cooper Tires ATRs gave me around 55000 kilometres of reliable service over three years including driving on sand on Stradbroke Island, a few days exploring the Victorian High Country, a road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne in 40 + degree heat, and numerous kilometres commuting around Brisbane. I had no hesitation in fitting Coopers new all terrain tires, the AT3s.
